I think you mistyped Rwanda? Certainly this is the Google Maps and the BBC spell it! Hopefully an admin can fix the headline.

Why is it called a deal instead of eg. a treaty? Less formalism may make it easier to achieve but sounds like easier to discern as well.

The deterioration of language of late has completely devalued treaty, combined of course with reckless disregard of treaties by certain parties, but, due to the valorization of idiots and deal-makers the word deal has become the preferred term of art.

Rwanda denies being at war with DRC as they're using proxy forces, so it's probably just for the optics.

This has been a good two weeks for US diplomacy: Israel-Iran ceasefire, DRC and Rwanda peace deal, and a 5% NATO defense spending pledge.

We are surrounded by good news, but mass media profits from you feeling anxious and insecure, so you only get to read about the worst.

The article makes it seem like not a lot was agreed to or was agreed to in terms so vague to not be as useful as the headline makes it seem.

this is deal that didn't need to be brokered by americans. but people are idiots.

the art of diplomacy is lost. & yeah africans have an inferiority complex.

Has Trump taken credit for it yet?

I disbelieve the DRC and Rwandan leaders met in the White House and signed the deal and had a PR moment with the deal brokered by the Trump administration?

      So, yes?
